"TRAVELS" Makes "Recommended New Listening"
on AAJ
Adam's debut album for Smalls Records was one of Dave Atler's recommended releases for the month of November. Stay tuned for more reviews to follow shortly.

"TRAVELS" TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 14th

Adam's
debut as a leader for Smalls Records is completed and will be available for
sale on October 14th, 2008. The album was recorded in June
and features Joe Sanders on Bass and Rodney Green on drums. It includes several
originals by Birnbaum as well as interpretations of Herbie Nichols, Robert Schumann,
Ray Noble and others.

TOUR DATES WITH GREG OSBY
Adam is back in the US following a successful tour of Japan with the Juilliard Jazz All-Stars, and will soon be travelling to the Green Mill in Chicago and the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles to perform with the Greg Osby Five. The performances will feature music from Mr. Osby's new album "9 Levels." Check out the "performances" section for details.

ADAM BIRNBAUM RECIPIENT OF CHAMBER MUSIC AMERICA "NEW
WORKS" GRANT
Adam is the recipient of a "New Works" grant from Chamber Music America.
His commissioned composition, "Dream Songs," will be a suite of trio
music inspired by the poetry of John Berryman. Stay tuned for further information

BIRNBAUM TO TOUR KOREA, JAPAN WITH JUILLIARD JAZZ ALL-STARS
Adam
will tour Korea and Japan from July 23rd to August 17th with
the Juilliard Jazz All-Stars,
performing and conducting masterclasses in Seoul, Tokyo, Shizuoka, and Osaka.
The group is led by director of Jazz Studies at Juilliard Carl Allen and features
Juiliard faculty member Ron Blake as well as Juilliard alumni Adam Birnbaum,
Mayuko Katakura, Dominick Farinacci and Yasushi Nakamura.
