performing at two great venues in New York the next two weeks, with his trio at
the Kitano on February 3rd, and with his quartet at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola all

Adam will be premiering a
brand new work on October 19th at Smalls and October 21st at the Jazz Gallery.
The piece, entitled "Dream Songs" is inspired by the poetry of John Berryman and
features Doug Weiss on bass and Bill Stewart on drums.

"TRAVELS" TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER

Adam's debut as a leader for Smalls Records is completed and will
be available for sale on October 14th, 2008. The album was recorded in
June and features Joe
Sanders on Bass and Rodney Green on drums. It includes several originals by
Birnbaum as well as interpretations of Herbie Nichols, Robert Schumann, Ray
Noble and others.

Adam is back in the US following a successful tour of Japan with the Juilliard Jazz All-Stars, and will soon be travelling to the Green Mill in Chicago and the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles to perform with the Greg Osby Five. "New Works" grant from Chamber Music America. His commissioned composition,

ADAM BIRNBAUM TO TOUR KOREA, JAPAN WITH JUILLIARD JAZZ
ALL-STARS
Adam will tour Korea and Japan from July 23rd
to August 17th with the Juilliard Jazz
All-Stars, performing and
conducting masterclasses in Seoul, Tokyo, Shizuoka, and Osaka. The group is led
by director of Jazz Studies at Juilliard Carl Allen and features Juiliard
faculty member Ron Blake as well as Juilliard alumni Adam Birnbaum, Mayuko
Katakura, Dominick Farinacci and Yasushi Nakamura.
